Are you working on your travel plans for 2025?
I’ve already started! For me, it’s all about getting the big trips planned first. Mapping out the year helps me stay organized and ensures that I can maximize my travel experiences. Whether it’s a dream destination, a family getaway, or a quick weekend adventure, having those plans in place gives me something to look forward to and keeps me motivated throughout the year.
Kicking Off the Year with Hawaii
First up, we have Hawaii at the end of this month. This wasn’t originally in the plans until I saw the incredible deal Southwest Airlines was offering on their flights—I just couldn’t turn it down! Airfare for four roundtrip at less than $375 each is simply too good to pass up. So, Hawaii, we’re coming for you!
This time, we decided to stay in Waikiki. We’ve taken the family to Hawaii twice before but haven’t visited Waikiki as a family yet, so we thought, why not? Previously, we explored the Big Island and stayed in Kona, and then ventured to Maui, staying in the Lahaina area. Each trip was magical, and I’m excited to add Waikiki to our family’s Hawaiian memories.
Spring Break in Thailand
Our next big trip will be over spring break, and we’re extending it by a week. We are heading back to Thailand with the family, and this time my parents will be joining us as well. We went last year during the same time period, and it was amazing. I’ll have to write an entirely separate post about our Thailand experience from last year—maybe that will be next!
Relaxation on the Oregon Coast
The last big trip planned so far for 2025 is the Oregon Coast at the end of June, once the kids are out of school. We try to visit the Oregon Coast every other year. We’ve stayed in the same house in Lincoln City the last four or so times, so it feels like a home away from home. This is always a special trip, much more relaxing than our other vacations, and one we always look forward to.
Weekend Getaways to Look Forward To
We also have a few smaller weekend getaways planned. One of them is a trip to Walla Walla, just the hubby and I, for a weekend of wine tasting. We aren’t big wine drinkers, but it still sounds fun to check out the area. Another is a weekend at Mt. Rainier, staying in a cute little A-frame cabin with a hot tub.
I’m trying to plan a new adventure or visit a new place once a month in 2025. I love searching Airbnb for unique stays like cabins in the woods, yurts, treehouses, or tiny homes. Anything different from a standard home, and I’m in! It’s always about the experiences for us, and staying in unique places is part of that.
Tips for Planning Your 2025 Adventures
Planning early means I can take advantage of better deals, lock in ideal accommodations, and avoid the stress of last-minute arrangements. If you’re thinking about your own travel plans, here’s my advice: start with your must-see destinations, decide on the best times to visit, and begin researching flights and lodging now. But don’t make it too stressful. Sometimes there’s fun and adventure in just going and seeing where you end up!
2025 is a blank slate, and there’s a whole world waiting to be explored. Where will your adventures take you this year?
Thanks for all you do to keep our family exploring the world. By the way…I love your blog and you should keep doing it.
I wouldn’t have it any other way. I live for our family and our adventures.
